Dubai TV announced yesterday that it is re-launching and will broadcast with a new look and feel from 7 March, 2010. The channel, part of Dubai Media Incorporated, is responding to recent statistical studies it commissioned on attracting younger audiences and hopes to achieve this with a revamped programme schedule and funkier graphics and on-air promo clips. The station will air an overhauled line-up of new programmes and the latest seasons of established favourites.
The CEO of channel affairs, Najla Al Awadi, explained: “The channel is aiming to highlight the cultural, humanitarian and economic renaissance of Dubai and other emirates through a range of new programmes, without losing sight of the fact that Dubai is an ideal city for the covergence of all Arab cultures, creativity and humanity”.
Dubai TV also aims to capture a wider pan-Arab audience and to use such youth-oriented programming as platforms for knowledge and to encourage freedom of expression.
