Saatchi & Saatchi Beirut and Amman split from agency’s network

Saatchi & Saatchi’s Beirut and Amman offices have announced their withdrawal from the agency’s EMEA network, which they have been part of for 18 years.

As of 24th December, the agreement between the two offices and the wider Saatchi network will be dissolved, with Saatchi EMEA to announce the next phase of its plans for the Middle East.

Prior to the split, Saatchi & Saatchi Holding was one of two major shareholders in Saatchi & Saatchi Beirut Sal, the other being Quantum Holding Sal.

It is not yet known what the Beirut and Amman offices will now be called.

Eli Khoury, CEO of the Beirut and Lebanon offices, confirmed that the withdrawal from the network aims at implementing his agency’s wider plan in the region.

Simon Francis, CEO, Saatchi EMEA, said: “We’d like to thank Eli and his team for their successses and contributions over the last 18 years, and wish them continuing success in the future.”

  1. In Kuwait – the Saatchi & Saatchi and Al Sayer (Toyota agent) business relationship has dissolved after a few years of appointing Saatchi as their in-house agency.

Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi, Al Hudhud (a local agency) handled the account for around seven years and prior to that another local agency named AAA (Arab Advertising Agency) handled the account for more than 30 years.

Rumor has it that Al Sayer are now looking towards Dubai based international agencies to handle their account!!!

The choice of using Saatchi & Saatchi services came after a gigantic pitch in which every agency in Kuwait has participated in and presented creative, media, research, etc. to each of the car models.

Saatchi and Saatchi in Amman is all about being unprofessional. Khaleena Sakteen.

  3. Anubis says:

international agencies or affiliations are only as good as their local teams.

  4. Bulcrapfitch says:

Take it as you may. But the fact that Saatchi Dubai is establishing offices in Jordan & Lebanon is purely business. Saatchi Amman and their professionalism has nothing to do with loosing their franchise. This is all to benefit from Zain’s account.

  5. Uncle Sam says:

Bulcrapfitch, your comment is absolutely right & professional unlike Moey’s, who has been attacking Saatchi in every blog & website that I know.

Meoy!! can you tell us what is your secret behind this mysterious grudge towards Saatchi since what we know about Saatchi is completely different ?!

  6. Moey says:

I was a part of Saatchi, an insider πŸ™‚

  7. Uncle Sam says:

Well, I have to say that you are totally wrong, because I was a part of Saatchi for more than 4 years & its nothing related to what your are saying, unlike you who spend one month only (as I heard) & since that time you are bombarding them with true & false criticizing,

I always like to look at your blog & monitor your analysis ;o), but from my perspective it’s truly personal & has nothing to do with creativity or business

    Isn’t it???

It sounds as if S&S are finally attempting a wholly-owned network across the ME. The situation with the Levant, Kuwait, Bahrain offices being partially owned was never a satisfactory one.

  9. yo_ghurt says:

    And…

…similarly the JV situation in Kuwait, where Al Sayer always felt that S&S was more concerned with servicing them (and by extension Toyota) than in growing the business.

…in Bahrain the local partner also didn’t feel they got the full benefit of being a part of the S&S network.

But it sounds as if a plan is now in place. So that’s good.

  10. Bulcrapfitch says:

yo_ghurt, so? wasn’t that what was said in the ongoing correspondence earlier to yours? I hate people who add for the sake of adding. If you have nothing to add to a conversation don’t speak, or type.

Going back to Moey, the insider! Keep in mind that not all people in the company are always let in on major business issues. Most of the employees are the last to know and are always left behind on issues that might concern them personally. In your case, i would have to assume you desk was next to the toilet door. Are you that upset? Let it be. Life continuous. C’est la vie πŸ™‚

  11. Moey says:

    Not really Bulcrapfitch.

    I knew a lot πŸ™‚
